“We look for student leaders,” Miller continued. He said the company doubled its program to sixty-five students due to the future MGM National Harbor and MGM Resort in Springfield, Mass. “We currently have 1,252 applicants for both programs,” Miller said. MAP participants are placed in specific resort or corporate departments, with the same responsibilities and expectations as full-time employees. The Management Associate Program (MAP), a year-long leadership development program for recent college graduates, offers an in-depth learning experience.
The program also provides a practical curriculum on corporate culture and the expectations of professionals in the working world. Running for ten consecutive weeks, students work with departments at MGM Resorts or in supporting Corporate Departments. The Hospitality Internship Program (HIP) is a full-time, paid summer internship for college students entering their junior or senior years. “This is a fast track program,” stated Miller, who said the programs are currently accepting applications from college students and recent college graduates for the 2015 sessions.
